Just over a week after Thomas Donlon became Interim Police Commissioner of New York City, federal authorities executed a search warrant at his home on Friday, Donlon said in a statement Saturday night.

Donlon was sworn in last Friday, replacing outgoing Commissioner Edward Caban, who resigned a week after the FBI seized his phone as part of a sprawling federal investigation involving other NYPD officers and members of Mayor Adams’ inner circle.

The admission is the latest in a cascade of federal investigations that have engulfed top aides to Mayor Eric Adams and top NYPD officials. Donlon, himself a former FBI agent, was a rare out-of-department appointment, brought in to lead the NYPD amid growing concerns about agency leadership and credibility.
