No injuries have been reported in a shooting in the University District that led to a shelter in place order for Ohio State campus

As kickoff draws near for the Ohio State Buckeyes to take on the Marshall Thundering Herd, there are growing concerns about safety in the campus area following two Buckeye safety alerts sent out this week due to shootings in the area.

A man accused in connection to a shooting Monday on the campus of the Ohio State University is in custody. Richard Patridge, 31, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Columbus after being spotted by police, according to our news partner WBNS in Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Ohio State University Police say a shooting has taken place on campus. Some bus routes are being suspended. Police say the shooting happened near the intersection of 11th Ave. & North High St. Columbus police are responding to the scene, and are asking the public to avoid the area and remain indoors.

Richard Patridge, 31, has been charged with felonious assault. He is also facing charges for kidnapping his former girlfriend and pistol whipping a man.

Ohio State University police said Wednesday afternoon that they are responding to a shooting at 11th and High Street in Columbus, Ohio. As per a post on X by OSU Police, initial investigations indicated that the shooting occurred as a result of an altercation between two people.
