AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Quinn Ewers passed for 333 yards and five touchdowns and No. 5 Texas rolled over struggling Florida 49-17 on Saturday, two days after third-year Gators coach Billy Napier was given a public statement of support from the school’s athletic director.

Thanks to a masterful performance by junior quarterback Quinn Ewers, No. 5 Texas was able to cruise to a 49-17 victory over Florida on Saturday.

Texas QB Quinn Ewers had himself a day against Florida, racking up over 300 yards passing with five touchdowns. During a blowout of the Gators, Ewers put up the best numbers of his season so far.

The jump resulted from surprising outcomes elsewhere. Previously No. 4 Miami suffered its first loss of the season at Georgia Tech, while No. 2 Georgia took a lopsided loss at Ole Miss for its second defeat of the campaign.
