Witt, 24, was named the All-MLB First Team at shortstop. He led MLB with a .332 batting average and 211 hits. Witt finished the 2024 campaign with 32 homers, 109 RBIs and an .977 OPS (on-base plus slugging).

The standout seasons of Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and catcher Salvador Perez continue to be rewarded with accomplishments.

The 2024 All-MLB teams were announced today, the newest Royals superstar earned a nod along with another Royals legend.

Perez, 34, earned his fifth Silver Slugger Award. He piloted the Royals offense with 27 home runs and 104 RBIs. Perez hit his 250th career home run against the New York Mets and later eclipsed 1,500 hits against the Colorado Rockies.

Team captain Salvador Perez is one of four finalists among AL catchers. The other candidates are Houston’s Yainer Diaz, Oakland’s Shea Langeliers and Seattle’s Cal Raleigh at catcher. Witt’s competition is Baltimore’s Gunnar Henderson and Texas’ Corey Seager at shortstop.

Royals SS Bobby Witt Jr. and C Salvador Perez were both awarded with the Silver Slugger Award. This is Witt’s first time receiving the honor and Perez’s fifth. Perez is the ninth player to win at least five Louisville Silver Slugger Awards as a catcher, putting him among a prestigious group.
